The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) is the process whereby adults enter the Catholic Church. For information on joining RCIA, please contact the parish office at 815-385-1477. Classes will begin in the fall.
The initials R.C.I.A. stands for the "Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults." The R.C.IA., a program of the Catholic Church, is oriented towards those who are searching and inquiring about the Catholic way of life. This program is oriented for adults, St. John’s accepts young adults from the age of 16, who are mature enough to participate in the R.C.I.A.
R.C.I.A classes begin in October and run through to the Easter Vigil, where you will make your sacraments, as long as all the requirements have been met.

- R.C.I.A. classes are held weekly over the course of several months. Those who attend are educated on the beliefs of the Catholic Church with plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
