Altar Servers typically boys and girls, grades 3-12, at St. John the Baptist assist the celebrant and/or deacon during Mass. Serve at Sunday and Weekday Masses, weddings, funerals and other liturgical functions. New servers are trained throughout the year.

Arts & Environment
The ministry is dedicated to enhancing the liturgy through arts and environment, especially for special seasons and holy days. Entails decorating and preparing the sacred space for worship (the church and sanctuary) for the liturgical seasons, Ordinary Time, Lent, Easter, Pentecost, Corpus Christi, Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas and including sacrament of Confirmation (date is assigned by Diocese).

Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers enjoy the privilege of serving the community of St. John the Baptist by bringing, in a respectful and loving manner, the Sacred Body and Precious Blood of our Lord and God, Jesus Christ to communicants during Mass.

Lectors
Lectors serve the community of St. John the Baptist during Mass by proclaiming the messages of our Lord clearly and understandably so that all who hear His Word may respond in faith.

Sacristans
Sacristans make the church ready for each Eucharistic Celebration by setting up and putting away the sacred vessels and linens used during Sunday and weekday Liturgies, as well a at weddings and funerals. Once a week, sacristans take turns cleaning, washing and ironing the linens, towels and servers cassocks used at Mass each week.

Ushers
Ushers have served the community of St. John the Baptist since the early 1840's by welcoming and protecting. We welcome all who enter for Mass, collect and secure donations and keep a watchful eye for anyone who may become ill or need assistance. We are present at weekly and Holy Day services, as well as funerals, weddings, and confirmations upon request. We welcome all men and women to service once or twice a month at a service convenient to their schedule.
